LATEST NEWS:  YAHOO HAS A WONDERFUL NEW NAME.  HE'S NOW CALLED RUDY.  IT SUITS HIM, AS DOES HIS NEW BED!

10 November:  These words from USA are music to our ears...  "He is loving his new home and we are loving him. He does not leave our sides."

Yahoo visited his friendly new Vet on Monday for a deep clean of his ear which still shows infection and pus.  He came home with some new meds, similar to those prescribed here in Singapore, but a little stronger. Waiting to see how that goes before investigating with a scope.

While Yahoo's ear is on the mend, here at ASD in Singapore we're working towards getting 3-legged Stella crate trained so that she can join Yahoo in the Big Outdoors where life is heavenly for a dog!  Keep an eye on her blog to see how she progresses >> click here

6 Nov 09: Yahoo! lands safely in New York! (awaiting an update from America)

27 October 09: Yahoo for Yahoo! He has a home.
There’s a reason this little fella is named Yahoo! Powered by dogged determination, Yahoo! has been a one-dog search engine on a quest to find himself a good home ever since the day he was rescued in January 09. Quite a big task for this small, one-eared dog with permanent scarring over his head and body that no-one can fail to notice, yet a dog with a personality so huge that he deserves the exclamation mark after his name. He also deserves the home he has recently found... in America!

Yahoo's new 'mom' lives in Massachusetts in the USA, and from the moment she heard about him, she knew he was the right dog for her. In November, Yahoo will be flying into JFK/New York, another dog to benefit from ASD's international rehoming programme.

Yahoo!'s Story
Yahoo! was found in January 09 wandering along Yishun Ring Road in Singapore, his right ear torn off and oozing pus. In much pain, Yahoo! cried as he scratched his infected ear and shook his head, as if trying to shake off the horror of recent memories. The top of his head had no fur and a dark brown scab layered his body, the frightful tell-tale sign of burns. Most likely Yahoo! had been scalded by boiling water or oil, but his rescuers will never know for sure.

It took a while for Yahoo to recover from his trauma, but it wasn't long before he developed his own personalised "pop-up" to attract potential adopters. Every new visitor to ASD’s Rehoming Centre was treated to the comical sight of his head popping over the gate to his kennel at regular 5 second intervals in dazzling bursts of energy for a dog so small. With every bounce, one could almost hear him begging “Pick Me, Pick Me”. But no-one ever did - til now!

YAHOO FOR YAHOO!!
